My Sanctuary

A sunkissed bed of roses,
a sturdy, leaning tree
Soft kisses on a whisper
a vision of the free.

A song of inspiration
that echoes in my ear
A certan understanding
that destiny is here.

A wall that is protection
does not a prison make
It offers a small doorway
that leads me to a lake.

Upon the lake a small boat
I step inside to see
It floats on drops of kindness
that feed security.

It takes me to an island
A place to call my own
Where I can grow a garden
and hope for me is sown.

I hope by now you see it
Disguised in shades of you
Sanctuary of your making
Your love is shining through.

    Wonderful imagery

I usually pick a favourite line to comment on but this time you made it impossible to do that. This is a grand sermon of joy. Your walls are friendly, you have freedom of choice to go anywhere you please in your boat that floats on kindness, your chosen destination is one where hope is planted. What a poem, what a message! Thanks for sharing your talent.
