I search my soul
with each sunset
standing, arms outreached
in awe of sequined skies
as wind carries clandestine thoughts
through tangled tresses
to become only whispers
between Angel giggles.
~
I search my heart
with each new sunrise
hoping for strength
but here it is...still all a-flutter
dangling from my sleeve
screaming my vulnerabilities to the World.
I am just a lady; a flower
filled with passion, compassion
and I don't know how to change,
or if I would even want to.
~
I search my mind
hour upon hour
a tug of war amidst emotion
where beautiful flowers fail to bloom,
for here lies cold, hard reality;
the battlefield where all meet
to contemplate consequences of my actions
and try to decide my destiny,
but when all is said and done,
I shall follow
the path of petals my heart leaves ~

Congrates On The Silver Sis!
My fav part.
I search my mind
hour upon hour
a tug of war amidst emotion
where beautiful flowers fail to bloom,
for here lies cold, hard reality;
the battlefield where all meet
to contemplate consequences of my actions
and try to decide my destiny,
But loved that hope at the end, thanks for sharing!
Much love, your brother, Timothy

deep and introspective and understandably such a piece can be a scary concept to follow through on, you have done a great job with this and I believe most of us have similar self doubts, without reflecting on those feelings we can certainly lose our way following false desires of trying to fit in to the expectations of others. in the end following and trusting the heart is a bold stride forward.

This is outstanding! I really love the way you have uniformly begun each separate section of this - and the imagery is beautiful
... I love the ending - and just wow ... this is a fantastic entry and I can't imagine you needing luck - but I wish you lots of it anyway
Keep writing
Polly

I ithink this is a very strong affirmation of self...to understand and accept...but remain open to the things that may come to us...afine balance...excellent, thoughtful poetry...PK...

Your words are beautiful and indeed sound worthy of a place in the final rounds, unfortunately as I told someone else, I am no expert on free verse so don't know a good piece from a bad one. However I like this and wish you well in the contest. Val
