He creeps across the ceiling to slither down the wall
Upon your bedroom carpet his limbs begin to crawl
So softly, oh so quietly he moves towards your bed
but then he sees a tiny mouse and murders it instead.
You slide beneath the covers and hold them very tight
Then suddenly remember it's Halloween tonight
The blood inside you freezes as talons pierce your sheet
Afraid to move you whimper as slime falls on your feet.
The smell of fear and hunger arouse you from your dream
You jump, throw back the covers, release an eerie scream
A hoot of laughter hits you, as you look round the room
Your friends stand there in costume and offer you a broom.
Then off you go together to act out trick or treat
Be careful whilst you're out there, you don't know who you'll meet
Perhaps there'll be a vampire to feast on your fresh blood
Yes look, I see him waiting, the demon in the hood.

Very good write. An eerie dream that was brought to life. I did have a problem with the line "Perhaps there'll be a vampire to feast on your fresh blood", It was out of time with the rest of the poem, it just didn't fit the rhyme. Other then that it was truly a good write. Thank you for sharing it,
Stephanie

Hi.Glad you enjoyed my poem for Halloween

The begining of this is very chilling for me...
"He creeps across the ceiling to slither down the wall"
"Upon your bedroom carpet his limbs begin to crawl"
It sounds like my worst fear...a hairy giant spider!
They are the only thing I'm scaried of...they are quiet and can sneak up on you anytime!
Thanks for the scare! Nice rhyme and flow!
best of luck in the contest
