If Heaven

If Heaven were

so near to reach

A ladder I would make

To climb high

Descent low

To a place

I could hide

No more to see

The ugly face

Of lifes sweetest torture

No more to taste the sweet wine

To drown my sorrows deeper

Oh Heaven

Heaven

High and Low

Bright starry

Gold and Silver

Heaven

Of dark, shadowless pit

In you a cave I chose

To hide away

To rest in peace

To dream, of dreams

Of yet to come.

Heaven does exist and we are asleep in it connected to the All. As we learn unconditional love and forgiveness (rochma), we ascend higher after each lifetime until we awake and find that life is an illusion.
I like the poem.  It fits with knowing of life between lives and of the dreams we call life until we awake.

    Wonderful words ...

expressed in a poem I would have structured and worded thus if it were mine:

    If Heaven

If Heaven were so near to reach,
    a ladder I would make
to climb so high, to descent low
a place where I could hide.

No more to see the ugly face
    of life's deep torture treat;
no more to taste the sweet of wine
    to drown my sorrows deep.

Oh Heaven, Heaven, high and low:
    bright starry silver, gold.
    Heaven of dark, shadowless pit,
in you a cave I chose.

To hide away, to rest in peace,
    to dream of dreams to feast;
dreams to become and to behold:
    to dream of Love foretold.

I love your poetry. Please see this as a suggestion.

    Love
    Myra

    Wonderful Words!!

A very heartfelt poem. I think we all wish this when the pain is too much. Somehow He helps us to hold on. A pleasure to read this touching poem. Take care.
    Peace and Grace. Sandy
