He sleeps beside me peacefully
and I whisper thank you God.
I remember not so long ago
how barren my world was.
I remember well the deep despair
that whispered thru my soul.
Before God placed his hand on me
and finally made me whole.
He sighs and turns, reaching for me
perfection I am sure.
God fashioned more flawless than
I ever asked him for.
I sing a song deep in my heart
to the God I thought to shun.
As I gather him close to my mended breast
My miracle ~ My son.

This is a wonderfully witten piece of poetry. God is so giving an worthy to receive our thanksgiving and praise. Thank you for entering the contest.

I do not do well to judge rhyme. My preference is free verse or short prose. The rhyme should never almost match, but match precisely. Of course, when we are praising God I don't much think that matters.

I rarely use imperfect matches when it comes to rhyme, but with prayers like this one I am willing to compromise. Actually I didn't set out to rhyme, it just sort of happened. Once it did I couldn't fix it and leave the praise the same. I think you are right and in this case I can forgive myself for my short comings. Thank you.

Nothing like the gift of a child to represent God's love.

I agree. He is the greatest gift God could have given me. Thank you for commenting.
