Georgia. Georgia.
I cry the whole night through
Just an old, sweet song
keeps Georgia on my mind --
as Ray Charles might put it.
Georgia's too small for a republic
and too big for an insane asylum
and besides it's too confusing
to have an American state
and a whole other foreign country
with the same name.
Next thing you know,
we'll be hearing the Russians
have invaded South Carolina
instead of Georgia or South Ossetia.
And who invaded whom, I'd like to know.
Now y'all two settle down over there
and play nice.
As to who's gonna make you?
Well, you have a point there.
We'll send the Georgians home
from Iraq and think twice about
extending NATO to the suburbs of Moscow
if y'all just cut us some slack.
Damn, don't be sending troops
for regime change nor none of that stuff.
It's not like it's the 19th Century
or 2003.
We get the friggin' point.
And if y'all wanna sign up
for the position of world sheriff --
well, here's the flippin' badge, Ivan.

This should have the gold! I don't know why it doesn't...

I will ignore the colour failings, as you at least apologised.
You get gold for:
1) acknowledging there are two sides to every story - a key thing I was looking for in this contest (although reading those that didn't realise this was amusing at least)
and 2) being cogent and literate - an isolate in this contest.
Saakashvili salutes you, friend of democracy! (Unless you vote for the opposition - in which case he'll water cannon you in sub zero temperatures on Tbilisi's main square, and don't expect to see that on CNN no more).
