A Different Type of War

I used to be at war with myself
tried my best to keep a clear conscience
i felt empty
so i tried harder
on this journey i learned plenty
my mind got a little smarter
so i started to write down
my thoughts on paper
opened up a little more
spoke my mind
tried to live right
i started to change
people couldn't understand what
was going through my head
living my life for me alone and jah
some relatives didn't like it, but still i didn't care
cause it felt right, the state of mind I'm in
right now, right here
on the right track now
understanding more about society
never will i get up and bow
to these rulers that's making alotta things hard for you and me
i ain't being harsh
just open up your eyes, and you're gonna see it...

What did you think

    Very nice.

Of all the poetry you have written this one spoke out to me the most.
I liked it very much. =]

    Great Write!

I took alot from this piece...the challenges that we face within ourselves and the choices we make.

Hopefully, as long as we are always moving foward, learning and seeking to understand society and ourselves...then we are halfway there already.

    Great opening lines.

    Lilly

thats like the saying i used to fight my inter demons...now we are on the same side... everyone has them.. some agree with the..others accept them and do nothing about it.. and others refuse to acknoledge them... forever condeming them to toture
