Bodhi-Tree-Trilogy

Missing image

painting “Blue Buddha” by maa

Divided into seer, seeing, seen
the One, perceived in fractions, not as Whole -
disguised as mirror, image, vanity -
smiles sweetly 'bout the dream of sleeping soul …

Light To Light – Space To Space
http://allpoetry.com/poem/4128661

They call it Brahman, Consciousness pristine
the Self or Being, Essence of I Am
“That” - which, by eye of wisdom, can be seen
when intellect becomes translucent gem

Substratum all-pervading, shore-less sea
all rivers merge in Thee, leave form and name
instead of ring or necklace, gold to see
impermanence renouncing, Truth to claim

Yet mind loves to create duality
and separates the knower - knowledge  - known
attached to body-mind-identity
veils Sun by thought-clouds ,Vision to postpone

Awakening is freedom from the mind
let water merge with water, Peace to find

From The I-Thought To The Source Of I
http://allpoetry.com/poem/4637688

Pure consciousness is asking : « Who am I ? »
to know its mask-less face, the faceless “I”
the sun behind some temporary clouds
the cloudless, space-less, unconditioned sky

When seeking for the “I” who thinks “I am”
no entity, no seeker will be found
no answer to the question can be formed
for “I” is silence listening to sound

“I” is immaculate, unaltered space
pure emptiness, not tied to form and name
the truth that thoughts and concepts cannot grasp
unlabelled and forever free from frame

“I” is sheer joy, vast spirit free from mind
the formless, timeless, undivided whole
true freedom, causeless happiness unbound
containing nothing – yet containing all

Death Of Duality
http://allpoetry.com/poem/4602431

Exhausted and weary of quest without fruit,
of fighting the grip of duality’s claw,
I feel how my sap sinks from crown to the root,
sense eyelids surrender to gravity’s law.

The seeking is over, the rebel is dead !
The God she was calling with faith, never came …
The Grail promised Gold, but was made out of lead,
dull chalice containing the poison of shame.

Yet, as the sad seeker dissolves with the goal,
and concepts of “I”, “me” and “mine” turn to naught,
the Void smiles in Silence as bottomless Whole;
and God is revealed as the Stillness I’d fought.

The cage of confusion I’m leaving behind,
just soaking in Beingness, free from the mind …

.........

.......

.....

...

.

Author notes

Reason cannot arrive at any final truth because it can neither get to the root of things nor embrace their totality.
It deals with the finite, the separate
and has no measure for the all and the infinite.

    I love it

This is a philosophy course in itself. I like the appearance of triplets in your trilogy, "seer, seeing, seen" and "the knower - knowledge - known attached to body-mind-identity". Your technique is lovely as always, and the words draw attention to the ideas rather than themselves. It is a pleasure to see these poems collected together.

    Hi maa

I'm taking an Asian Philososhy course at this time, so this is a good time to read such as this. The ideas and form are a joy to read. You do well in demonstrating these very abstract ideas in poetic form.

    Very deep

These were verses that called to be read over and over. There are layers of wisdom and meaning that must soak into the mind.

"The God she was calling with faith, never came …
The Grail promised Gold, but was made out of lead,
dull chalice containing the poison of shame."

This most touched me ... but must read again and again to understand why. Just beautiful writing.

Maa I never know quite what to say when I read your lovely word, it is place I hope to be but always seems a bit out of reach, as if I am there but not.
while I read your write there is a familar grace to your words. a grace that I am not quite able to obtain. I have felt this before, truth that seems to flow through your words, has flowed through many others. percieved in fraction may be what I am doing instead of being.
anyway I guess it will take as long as it takes and for now I can see through others
    lovely maa
    God bless my rainbow sister
