Petals

Out of the thunder and the storm
Blooms flowers, from the rain.
It is the sorrows of our time
That gives the strength,
To our remain.

A child of God's, born unto you
Has heard the Angel's hearken
They summoned him back home,
To an eternal life in heaven.

In the presence of his absence
He leaves for you to find,
The petals, reminiscent
Of his short and earthly time.

Memories are the blossoms
From the flowers of his life
Embossed forever on your heart
And pictured in your mind.

Find comfort in his memories
As a blessing, of his love for you,
The petals that he left behind
Are symbols of his love in kind.

This is a really beautiful poem which I can really imagine being read at a funeral of a young person. I liked the subtle rhyming and gentle flow..the words kind, sad and hopeful. Thankyou for entering the contest with this lovely poem.

How inspiring to sing this beautiful poem. I am sorry that you lost a friend or loved one so young...it's a terrible thing and seems so unfair when life is taken so early.

Thankyou for sharing your poem, I really do appreciate it.

Gulfy, AngelBellerose has summed things up nicely in her comment. You do have a beautiful heart as well as a talented pen. And the more and more I see of your heart and your never failing kindness to everyone you come in contact with, the more I am in awe of you. This poem is further evidence, if any was needed, of that assertion! God Bless you!
