It seems I'm making a run for
most failed relationships
by high school graduation.
What does this make . . . six?
Has to be some kind of record,
if only for "most bad choices."
I'm so sick of pale promises
from boys with empty eyes.
They mouth the words
and I believe, mores the pity.
How have I let myself
be taken in so many times
by the same hollow words?
I have been the fool
of every boy who showed
the slightest interest.
I want to change.
I want to belong to myself,
not to one of them.
Please tell me what you think

Best to get them out of the way while you're young. 'boy' is key here however... you can't expect to get a man from a boy... or from some men for that matter, lol.
It's o.k. to be single, no need to compete with your peers, the odds of any relationship working out from high school are slim to none, so in my eyes... you're ahead of the game.
