an illusion

Mirrors of life move and shift
reflecting images as they drift,
pillar of passion prop up
their chain,  a perfect match up
in love, in want, beyond distance,
beyond doubt, in timeless existence.

A gift for my love, my self, my will,
never before such happiness did fill,
he who loved truly, never complained,
years of fulfillment blissfully reigned,
only smiles and laughs ever since,
with my comedian lover and prince.

The modern fairy tale came and went,
in a lovely nest together content,
friends and family looked in awe,
amused and enthralled at what they saw,
the illusion was real to the touch,
no pretense or anything of such.

With eyes shut tight, the better to recall,
moments of ecstasy in love did befall,
a better love has not been found
since he had gone  to the burial ground,
in my good life a great love came
illusion or  memories, are all that remain.

This is an inthralling poem, filled with vivid imagery, feelings of love.
It seems to be a very personal poem and if it's about you, I'm happy for you that you've had such a loving relationship with this wonderful partner, the loss of whom lends poignancy and tenderness to this piece

yes, a personal note in verse on the confusion brought about by the difference between reality and what one perceives or thinks.

    - no wonder you write like he does (i hope you'll take it as a compliment). i had to re-read a few times and remind myself it's you and not him. congratulations on your first post here.
