One has to experience being alone
before wanting to be left alone
I am never alone, as I have me
The days can become shorter
and the nights can become lonelier
Yet the other half of my double bed
does not have to stay empty and cold
The left over milk can turn sour
before its expiry date arrives
Yet "off" milk bakes the best scones
for me to serve with cream and jam
One has to experience being alone
before wanting to be left alone
I am never alone, as I have me

I understand when you say one has to experience being alone. I was alone for a long time before I met my soul mate. A lovely write well written.

I like this a lot, especially the image of the milk going sour and getting used to make scones. It's so upbeat, a good take on this living alone prompt.
Thank you for entering my contest.
