Imposture Finesse.

What am I to believe?
All of your words have two meanings.
When this anger possesses me,
I hear exactly what I don't want to.
It's what you say, and how you speak it,
your lies, tucked solemnly inside truths.

You cannot hide, and you will not blind me,
my eyes will never see.
I'm told you will love me,
but I know better than even you, of your own deceit.

You think you are clever,
an infinite number of steps ahead,
but I know well your limits.
Unbridled pride will prove to be your weakness.

You should know, well enough,
not to underestimate friend or foe.
Your self-worth is much like the light,
lack of this esteem will kill, cast you into dark dreams.

Too much of this 'virtue' might inhibit your sight,
with the brightness of a thousand stars.
Admiration has surely brought upon your downfall,
you'll lose because my strength is greater.

Your frailty is too bright to hide in the darkness,
the truth you cloak yourself with to cover your lies.
The black aura you try to emanate,
and push unto those who have no desire to join you.

Author notes

Not my favorite, but I like it nonetheless.
It doesn't seem to flow like my others, but I'm fine with that.
It's the message behind it that counts.
Thank you for reading.

Very strong. There is a detachment in this poem that is quite frightening. The only word that struck me as out of place was 'unto' in the final line. Otherwise, great. Very subtle use of internal rhyme.
