Casualties of ominous situations
Come upon often for the soul that is
One of incredible complications
On the mystery that is life.
~
A raven flaps its wings of black
Its piercing stare holds you still
Beats fast your heart does
As the raven spreads wide its arms.
It screeches so shrill
Attacks with such confidence
As if it already recognizes you
As having no chance.
Bolting upright from the terrible slumber
You shiver in the cold, cruel darkness
As you hear a tap on your window you turn and scream
As you peer into the eyes of the raven.
The raven that haunted your dream
Has come to life
Only to haunt your soul
Beware the raven.

Hmmm, must be the dream Poe once had one night when he was too sober to sleep....

One suggestion, don't capitalize every line. It takes away from the flow of reading it. Other than that this is quite a brillaint read. I like the chilling style. Well done
