As your eyelashes flutter for the last time
I listen to the clock-bell chime.
As your last breath is drawn softly,
I realize that this is killing me.
Now I watch your life as it fades away,
and I wonder why it must be this way.
Your battle was long, gruelling and hard,
your life and health you had to guard.
Yet you bore it, yes, and held up well,
with your ready smile, a beautiful spell.
My heart caught in an emotional twister
Sleep well Lizzie, my angel, my sister.

That is intense and I am sorry for your loss. That poem couldn't be more touching. It feels as if I were there and could feel everything you feel.

This was heartbreakingly beautiful, a lovely tribute for your sister

Your Loss!
Amber, First off I want to say that I am sorry for your loss. In this poem I can feel the pain and heartache and my heart goes out to you. I feel that this poem; your feelings, is beyond any criticism. I believe to critique one's heart, emotions & feelings is wrong. I will say however, you have expressed a sad time, ever so beautifully and once again, I am sorry....DeeDee
