I am learning to silence my soul, to be still
To quiet the noise about and within
To seek only God's sovereign will
To let the Holy Spirit cleanse me of sin
Like a weaned child on his mothers lap
I rest in the assurance of divine love
Letting him stand inside the gap
Of hell below and heaven above
I take refuge from the weary battle
To heal my wounded heart and soul
Shutting out the clatter and rattle
Letting presence be my only goal
The noise ceases, I am empty, and unmoved
He places His love in holes where sin is removed

Affirming All You Say..So peaceful a Write
One reading like myself feels drawn into the peace you share here in the Lord's unconditional love that heals our hurts and His peace cushioning us from all that disturbs us..The beginning reminded me of the Finlandia hymn "Be Still My Soul"..Thank you for your own sonnet here to bring it into today, speaking to our own hearts, as well as your own! Masterful words, Bob...Bookmarked!

Excellent
Oh I loved this poem. So humble yuo are dear friend. Just a true poem of learning to be still. I too am tring to learn to be still as well. Oh the great inner peace that comes when I completely surrender and ask him to help me trust in him in all he does for me. How he uses everything in our lifes good or bad to ultimately do his will...In the process we get to help others by meeting them right where they are at with Gods presence with us and the gift of the Holy Spirit to reighn and diirect our paths. Your ryhme and flow is excellent. Thank you for commenting with hugs on my poem. I wanted to thank you for sharing your gift to write poetry with me.
Wishing You Many Blessings
Much Love
Kelle Marie
