passages
bisect our lives
affecting our geography
mapping our emotions
which mask today
shall I wear?
joy, of the depth of anguish
my heart was left pinned to your sleeve
bleeding there, waiting for a reprieve
I am so much braver when I write
then when I actually tackle life

Bravery!
in writing will spill over into your life. The freedom to speak from your heart changes us all. It has done much for me in my time here. It will also transform you. Good luck in your writing journey and may you find yourself in it. The hardest thing for a poet is to speak of the things that lie closest to home. This is the first one that I have seen that hints at what lies underneath. Good luck in your contest!

Like the angle you took this. Also love the picture you used to accompany this piece. Pretty birdie.

True, we are all much braver when we write
i sense longing and at the same time confusion -
