Wintry Night's Spell

Wintry nights'  coven
of winds and whispering nighs
all is lost, all is still
there are no shadows that spill

And the night is cold
with bleakness
dark clouds enfold
A moonless night my plight

Wintry nights'  coven
of winds and sighs
on my window pane
whispering ghostly names

Will you not come
and wake me
from this
Wintry nights' coven

Powerful write. The last line seemed to have a sadness to it. It made me think of loneliness and of how sad it can be in the winter when people are stuck inside from it being too cold outside. Thanks for sharing and keep that pen flowing.

Is that last foreboding verse a promised threat? Ha! Or a sadness in regret of not? One can feel winter's cold vacumm void in your words.Moonless cold nights and whispered names . Ewwwwww! I get a visual of the names spelling out on the windows pane in melting ice running down it. Very befitting for this season.
