Duet

Your feelings wrap me
like a melody
and only we share the words.
It is a secret symphony
that’s written
in the mysteries
of the soul.

I never knew the song existed
until you came into my life.
Now, I find myself humming
it everyday as though always
a part of me.

It has the overtones of love,
the rhythm of compassion,
the rising notes of happiness
and the lower notes
of sadness shared.

It is a duet.
It is written in the key
...of two.
