Why can't we look deeper than the skin?
Why can't we open our hearts?
Why can't beauty come from within?
Why do we look at things from the world's point of view?
Why are we so caught up in the symbol that's displayed on our shoe?
Why is the "church" considered to be the building?
Why do we throw stones?
Why is it so difficult when you try to make it on your own?
Why do we settle for second best?
Why when we turn our backs, we feel no regret?
When we step out on faith, why do our friends desert?
Why do we struggle?
Why does love hurt?
Why???
Why do we want the best for others, but not the best for ourselves?
Why do we cast judgment? Why do we tell each other to go to hell?
Why do we focus on the physical?
Why not focus on whats not there?
Why are we so materialistic?
Why does no one seem to care???

Very deep and eye opening!I am a follower of understanding The Way,and I'm glad to see there are others that speak out against judgement and hate.We haven't the right to judge or hate unless we ourselves are perfect and NOBODY is perfect.We were created this way for a reason.I love how your poem gets the message across!Fantastic work!

Some people can only care for others, while some people can only care for themselves... its a twisted balance of life... People don't realize that there could be another view out there.... scientists try to prove religion wrong day after day, and yet at the same time religious groups dictate day after day that scientist create false truths to turn people from religion....
its an ongoing cycle... the only good thing i can think of is that our generation sees what older generations are doing, and are sickened by it. So hopefully we wont make the same mistakes they do.
