It's been a month
a new journey
a new life.
For over a year
death stalked me
taking all I loved.
my best friends, dead
so to the lover I had
the center of my world
It even threatened me
in the form of a stroke
so I knew it was there
Slowly eating away
trying to take me
one bite at a time
the options were
stay and die
or disappear
It took a month
to pack things
so many things
the truck arrived
so small, oh well
so little to take
Three days
traveling threw hell
then arrived here
it is no where
there is nothing
no one lives here
I sit and look
the silence
calms me
now
I will form
a new me

IT is less a ' story' as it is the reality of my current life & true
but I'm glad it touchs other's lives and maybe threw it - I can lift someone who is feeling down - I've been there and there was someone there for me

Perhaps not for the same reasons you have writtenthis, or your intended meaning, but something in this gives me hope. I find the words with a degree of comfort even though it woudln't seem that way on the surface of reading.
