She really is a cutie and is quite bright,
however her request does not seem right.
This little darling who is aged six,
announced to her parents last not of the animal she picked.
She first asked for a Llama but alas
it was too expensive to go visit the Dalai Llama.
So when she learned about the animals in Bible School.
She thought getting an elephant would be cool.
Hannah is a very sensitive child and I would image when,
she grows up she is going to be an veternarian.
But you should have seen her dad's face when he was asked to grant.
Her request for an Elephant.
He said that the elephant would not fit in their house,
all the while he felt like a louse.
Hannah reminded him that there would be plenty of room,
in their new house being built and her elephant would face its doom.
Author notes
Hannah has her heart set on getting an elephant, they will have 21 acres of property when they move. She already has two dogs, Elvis and Latte and two cats so I image she will eventually get her wish.

This is something she will treasure someday.

Quite good fun in this arythmic poem. Not sure I understand the line
"announced to her parents last not of the animal she picked."
and there is a typo at "an veterinarian" . Your rhyme with elephant in verse three is a hoot.

Adorable write!
It reminds me of a children's story (I don't recall the name) that I read to my kids when they were little, about a woman that brought a zoo into her house. The elephant was the central figure in the book; and her living room!
This poem was really warm-hearted and delightful with a light-hearted sense of humor and play on words. It tells a lovely story through the eyes of a child and the refreshing and innocent view of things.
Hopefully, when the elephants lose their habitat and their numbers are dwindling down to just a few; there will be plenty of Hannahs in the world to rescue them. Thank you for this precious entry. Thoroughly enjoyable! -
Nice
My granddaughter Hannah is just 10. She got a pony. It is blind so moves slow. The pony has a seeing eye horse he runs around with. lol
