you and me till the wheels fall off, ehh?
well love, the transmission's done for
and the engine's gone;
someone stole the radio
so the music don't come on.
the windows are shattered;
the rain always comes in,
sit in it long enough
and you'll learn how to swim.
three doors won't open
and all four are junk,
but the wheels are still there and babe,
there's a spare in the trunk.
well love, the transmission's done for
and the engine's gone;
someone stole the radio
so the music don't come on.
the windows are shattered;
the rain always comes in,
sit in it long enough
and you'll learn how to swim.
three doors won't open
and all four are junk,
but the wheels are still there and babe,
there's a spare in the trunk.
Author notes
(Maybe the wheels weren't the important part...)
I'm not sure whether it comes through or not, but in this the car is a metaphor for a broken relationship, one that was supposed to last forever.

Aww
This is so sweet.
I like how you stated your love in a matter of fact way. You didn't beat around the bush using fancy confusing language. It's very sweet.
Good luck and thanks for entering.

I liked this ..
And it made me smile.
I remember sitting in an old car i went for miles and miles in that car and never left the yard.
So as you can see this poem brightened my day.
