Willy Watkins Walked West

Willy Watkins was

walking wearily

west to

wend his way

in the rain

without getting wet.

He carried

a handy

dandy

hand held

MP3 player

that he

couldn’t get wet.

While walking

Willy

wanted to

wet his whistle,

so to the best bar

on his beat

he went.

He had a

hardy drink

hardly enough

to warm him up,

Willy walked

westward

once more.

Author notes

This is just another of my silly alliteration-filled e. e. cummings-like poems, for your enjoyment in reading aloud!

Are there really ghosts?

Alliteration and ee cummings are not my cup of tea, but I sense talent in the word play and the musical quality of this work. Surely best read aloud.
