Dedicated to my friend Bob Fox

Dearest poet,
I wanted to do this though you may not know it,
To thank you for your friendship,
Its one so true and not in any way blue,
I haven’t been here long at AP,
Though I can honestly say,
You welcomed me in with open arms,
We may only know each other a very short time,
Bob… I feel we have known each other a lifetime,
You have helped me in many, many ways,
And inspired me to continue writing,
So for that dear friend,
I can not thank you enough,
I pray we continue to be friends for a very long time,
You may not see it… but I can and want to tell you,
You have a heart of gold my friend that maybe others don’t see!
This saddens me… as I can see it even through all those miles…
That is in between us,
So… I ask that you don’t make a fuss,
For me doing this poem my friend,
As to me you are a fantastic person,
Please never ever doubt that,
Or you will make me shout!
I am honoured to call you my friend dear Bob,
Please know you are in my thoughts.
And always remember what you tell me…
Smile dear friend… smile.
