Sitting there upon nightstand,
coffee cup ring, wedding band.
There since that tearful morn,
awoke to find, you were gone.
Dare not touch or wipe away,
memories of our happier days.
So many nights we lay in bed,
I watched TV while you read.
Miss you lying next to me,
an empty pillow is all I see.
So unreal, all of this seems,
life is now hell, not a dream.
How could I be so mistaken,
now left here alone, forsaken.
Wedding ring and coffee stain,
upon nightstand stiil remain.

That is a great picture
The words show a story of a betrayed loved one. I like this a lot! The Shaker

lovely poem
rhyme and flow are fantastic as usual
such sadness, maybe hope still in that she hasn't got rid of his memories. I began putting things up, when I gave up hope.
Good job and best to you in the contest

Now thats sad. Very touching. And very good.
A shame what life does some times.

whoa.
i really enjoyed this poem. it was so sad, and it told a tragic love story, but in such a beautiful way. your background's awesome too
just one little suggestion tho... your third stanza last line, i think the word "hellish" doesn't sound quite right. maybe "life is now one hell of a dream"? well, it just sounded a little off for me, but other than that, i really liked this poem. your emotions were kept so real and intense! keep penning. thank you very much for the entry. best wishes!

The stains of our memories...how sureal this poem reads. Like an old family ablum with all that was once cherished in our now empty lives! Sad really when you think of how happy two people in love can really be...till it is all but a stain! ~Sie
