Just as the sun fades into the distance
bringing upon a new moon
it bids farewell
as the colors change into the sunset below

Just as lovers bid farwell to love
and find some one new
a piece of them is still remembered
even when time has healed their wounds

Just as death brings grief to follow
it brings memories to never be forgotten
and families cherishing
the lessons you taught them


but forget us not
as we tread upon new paths in life
we are but memories
and the reason why you smile at times

we are chapters in your life
that left an impact upon you
for better or for worse
and we are the words you will remember always

dont let the sun go down upon us
we will still remember you somewhere somehow
and you will not be forgotten

earth is only a time to get to know us
but in death we will meet again
when the sun sets for its final time upon us
