Once upon a good time
There was a man with a love
For potions and magic pills
And things that put him above
All the mundane aspects
Of the reality he knew
All the fighting and the crying
And those existential blues
And he buzzed around merrily
For days and months and years
But as time went on and on
The magic slowly disappeared
And he waited in vain for change
He lost his hair, bought a hat and got fat
He tried to pull the rabbit out of
that hat
But it was mangey and dead
And that was that.

A wonderfully written tale of false security and ultimate woe. An excellent take on the prompt poet. The rhyming here is lyrical. Thank you for this entry, it is written in full circle. We need be mindful of the false sense of relief that drugs often exhibit. Excellent! I wish you well in the challenge and life.
Much Love & Respect ♥

I like how you made this into a fairy tale with a not so happy ending. This is a very good take of the prompt. The rhyme and flow of this is good.

Creepy.
Awesome! But creepy nonetheless.
I am very impressed.
