Like a double edged sword, his tail flicks
With his sand papered tongue, he licks
One eye open, getting ready to pounce
A leap in the air and off with a bounce
Jumping and cavorting from chair to chair
Spreading his fur from here to there
As quick as he starts, he suddenly stops
Down to the floor he lazily drops
Flopping over for an afternoon nap
Ends a day in the life of a spoiled house cat

Leo sounds like a great cat to have around. I hope he finds his life as fun and pleasant as this poem about it!
Folks who aren't cat fanciers seem to be put off by them because they don't fawn over a person as a dog might. But why would they? They aren't dogs; they're cats! My friends, furry or otherwise, are my friends for who and what they are. I would be a poor friend to them if I wished them to be any other way!
(He says as he limps away from the desk, ankle swollen from turning on the cat toy left in the middle of the hall.)

Look at that lovely orange background! The color of Moxie! You probably don't know what Moxie is, it's just an old soda, my fav.
I used to make all my backgrounds orange, drove folk nuts.
I know about spoiled cats. My brother and sister-in-law have one that they put a bib on and feed at the table! Maybe I am lying just a bit. But it is spoiled!
You have three cats? Oh my, I'd feed them some sleeping pills.
Silliness aside, it's a cute poem and you do a good job of describing the cat and his actions. Thanks for entering!

I'm partial to pink backgrounds, but chose the orange to match my muse, Leo,the orange cat I wrote the poem about. Thanks for the great comments!!
