'The Day He Left'

I remember the day he went home.
It was so very hard for everyone,
but he had a heart of gold,
so I know, that heaven became his home.

He did everything for one and all,
offered his friendship to those,
big and small.
We were all so very blessed,just for knowing him.

He was my next of Kin,
My Uncle Don, who always had a grin,
for everyone he met.
He was truly, one of the very best!

Not a day goes by, that we are not missing him.
He had a way about him, that could make you,
smile, once again.
He would always know, if you were sad and blue.

His hair was as shiny and pure white,as the snow
as the heavens' halo, that shined so bright.
It glistened in the sun, just like the Man,
that he truly was, with a certain glow!

He held his head up so high,
as he knew his time, was drawing nigh.
Not a single sigh, did he even cry,
cause he had 'The Lord',right by his side!

I'm sure by now, he has his set of wings,
with which to do many new, awesome things.
I'm sure by Gods' side, he resides,
as an Angel, so classy, in gold and white.

With our Family, he is now reunited,
as they all stand right by his loving side.
God made him a Warrior, a Man of pride,
and that's what he was, the day that he died!

On his face, he had a smile, so wide,
cause he knew that we were all there,
to kiss him goodbye, but only for a short while,
for some day, we will all be walking that little mile.

Then we will all meet once again,
and such a glorious party, will begin,
in the Heavens', such as never was.
We will all be together, just sharing our Love.

We miss you so much, Uncle Don,
for you were so duly Loved.
A fine Husband, Father,Brother,Grandpa,
Son, Uncle, and, Friend, to so many!

I know that we all were so very blessed,
and much richer, in our lives,
just for knowing you, in our lifetime,
and now my Dear Uncle, may you just rest!

I know that you will be peeking down,
once in awhile, and I know that you are,
always around,with that great big,proud smile,
all aglow, on your face, and walking, so very tall.
