Ghoulish goblins and ghosts
Will be tonight’s hosts
They’ve sent out a welcome to all
The witches will dance
And the werewolves will prance
To the music of the Monster Ball
There are black cats galore
But you’ll howl for some more
As the fog and the leaves gently fall
They’ll scream in delight
Lit by soft candlelight
As they waltz at their grand Monster Ball
There are tricks and great treats
Always plenty of eats
Most bought at the nearby Ghoul Mall
They’ll dress in their best
To impress all the rest
At the annual fall Monster Ball
They will offer a toast
Up to this years great host
As each monster lifts his own glass tall
They’ll down a big swig
And they’ll all dance a gig
On the dance floor of the Monster Ball
There’ll be boos and soft sighs
Haunting moans, barks and cries
A good time will be had by them all
With food games and fun
They will dance till the sun
Puts an end to this year’s Monster Ball
Author notes
I actually wrote this as a children's book. Anyone here illustrate?

Very nice ...
and very nicely written. I actually got a chuckle out of this, and that's rather rare nowadays, since I am always in so much pain.
This would be perfect to read at the beginning of a Halloween Party.

thanks...I'd love to find someone who illustrates and try this as a childrens book

Run a contest ...
for it. There must be a way to do that. I'm sure somebody on this site does illustrations, and doubtless there's more than one.

This is so cute. I can totally put an image to the whole thing, and I think it's great that this is written as a chrldren's book. Nice work.
Thank you for entering and good luck.

So well done Ruth
Hope all is well with you.
I am finally finishing my first book of poetry. Funny how things work out. A therapy turning into a passion.
My wife and I are looking forward to our second Great-Grandchild this December. Not sure we are old enough but guess that does not matter to our Grandchildren.
Your friend,
Jim
