Your switchblade knife can take away anything
for every cut that cuts so deep
like love unleashed
and breaking hearts left in pieces
of despair
you can bury the blade inside my mind
then lay the edge against the pallour of my skin
weigh my soul down with your conscience
maim me with your isolation
keeping me tied up with memories
of you sleeping around
I want to be free
but now I see there is no end-game plan
we all have a switchblade that cuts so deep
a needle, a pipe, a spoon burnt and bent
you know the truth
you know there is no salvation or glory
your switchblade knife does it all
for you...

"maim me with you isolation" was probably my favourite line in this piece... something about the flow of that line... I just liked. I liked "a needle, a pipe, a spoon burnt and bent" as well, though I wasn't entirely sure of its relevance to the rest of the piece.

Intriguing! I love how you weave back and forth between the abstract images and then slap something so brazen in there---> "maim me with your isolation
keeping me tied up with memories
of you sleeping around"
Very, very nice.
Actually, I love this! Dark, but in a tasteful, mysterious, meaningful way!!
Good luck,
Kelsey-Jo
