Hair tangled, blood a-tingling, she awakes.
Startled, her shaking finger parts the blinds
and finds a tender culprit: one balled hand
rap-rapping at the glass; a messenger.
Familiar friendly eyes stare back at her.
On recognition's tailcoat rides relief.
Cold Lovely fogs the window with his breath
and, channeling da Vinci, writes "hello."
"Come in," she mouths, and meets him round the back.
Cold body is embraced by sleeptime warmth
and padding feet slip softly down the hall.
No words exchanged, they tiptoe to her bed.
"Just lay with me," she says. "Don't go away."
And in each other's arms they fall asleep.

I am a fan of this poem.
Very well done indeed,
and nice ending.

"Channeling da Vinci" is probably my favorite ever.

I really like it!
Okay, so I'm a sucker for romance short-stories. But who doesn't dream of that stuff?
