Something Numb 2

Where was I?
Left behind.
Scattered scars,
Barely survived.
Not a sound,
Just for right now.
Until I scream.
Was this just a dream?

I tied a knot around the thought of you.
I pull and pull, but it won't come lose.
So your stuck in the front of my mind.
While physically, you left me behind.

Where were you?
Miles ahead.
Forgotten me.
Left me for dead.
Not a word.
I couldn't breathe.
I just hurt,
But you wouldn't see.



Where were we?
Fallen apart.
Where did it end?
How did it start?
Not a soul,
That I could feel.
I guess this
Was just never real.

Slide the knife down my chest.
Take my heart, leave all the rest.
Then give me something numb.
So I'll accept that we are done.

    Powerful

    I love the second stanza. Imparticular the first 4 lines of the Second Stanza..Were were you? Miles ahead. Forgotten Me. Left for Dead. I can see a broken heart and the frustration of thinking how could this person hurt me and why do they not care? This is a Powerful Poem!
