Bounty's season has come to pass.
And on this night, the veil is thin.
Honoring those whose time has past,
Calling communion with them again.
Our Bonfire's lit and our alter's fixed,
At the ready with dark and light.
With fortitude in ritual imbued,
Summoning creation to sit things right.
Burnt ash circle connection complete ,
We call upon the dual deity's power.
To open the portal betwixt between,
Inviting ancestors here in this hour.
Seeking forgiveness of misguided deeds,
We offer up yearly Autumns harvest.
Blessings bestowed us and those we grieve.
Beseeching forgiveness in cloak of darkness.
May all our souls find blessed amends,
In Samhain's night of spiritual cleanse.
Author notes
Where there's a will, there is a way. Blessings to all on this powerful eve for many more future seasons blessed in light and love.Vague, but to each their own in their own guided way.

This fits perfectly with the "Dia de los Mortes" celebrations in Mexico and the Southwestern US. Excellent.

Hmmm, it seems Amulet beat me to the theme...you've entered your talents in her seasonal contests and mine stay lonely

This is wonderful, so much to take from it...
each stanza setting a scene and carrying it
through with defined meaning. It reads to
me just like an incantation. Blue

Blessed Samhain indeed
This is a really well done piece. You've managed to fit quite a lot of it in a few lines and really pulled it off quite well. I truly enjoyed this, excellent

Nice job. I've been toying with a poem for this contest, but you nailed it so well. You imbibe the poem with a real feeling that goes beyond the theme. I look forward to reading more of your work.
