His smile warmed my heart
as I leaned forward to kiss him
for the very first time
knowing in my mind
that he was the one
who I would surrender
my body and soul to
and allow myself to be me
after a life long journey
of being everything
to everyone else
I knew, it was the place
for my weary soul to rest
and be swept away
by love and romance
sheltered from all storms
letting the tides of love
wash away my fears
of never trusting again
but then, the storms came
"Grassy Sound" was destroyed
he took flight
to another safe harbor
where silence
rules his heart!

first love it sounds wonderful. This sounds like a high school romance. I guess graduating high school splits a lot of couples up. Those were the days. great write and full of passion.
