Memories Holding On...-

*

lonely,

looking longingly

outside.

leaning into the

cold hard hazy rippled glass

of bitter calloused veracity.

love gone,

perplexingly pulled ,

without pity,

cruel portentous platitudes.

naught seemingly survives.

there were times …

when we warmly welcomed sensual

tender thoughtful love.

where caring was everything.

today,

my faint memories

precariously bridge

emptiness…

I don't think after writing this lovely piece you can say you are "not good at freewrites". This proves you wrong.

How nice of you to say so

I really try but this is difficult for me.
      Thank you.

There truly are memories holding on here, gripping the hand held between lonely. Beautifully executed free verse that blends style from a practiced hand.

Imagery is beautifully creative in portentous platitudes, hazy rippled glass and precarious bridges. Wonderful use of alliteration to mark spaces and punctuation moments.

Well done to image and word prompts. A pleasure to read and enjoy. Thank you for entering this gem in my contest. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela
