Frenzied Escape

My head hurts
It's insanity
Grabbing at me
With its clawed fingers
It's like a burning
Right behind my skull
Consuming my brain
And my eyes light up
Leaving me unable
To recognize myself
I'm starting to wonder why
Sleep leaves me helpless
And fearing everything
The shadows thicken
Taking on life
And come crawling
Towards me
I rush from my bed
Seeking solstice
Away from my head
By standing in false light
And tip-typing my way
Through the ugly voices
Plaguing me

And the images I dread

That await me

In my nightmares

Out of the corner of my eyes

I spy on them spying on me

Lithe black figures

Studying

Waiting

Preparing

To pounce

At a moments weakness

When I lapse in control

Of my own mind
