Her tiny heart was painted with innocence,
waiting to wrap its arms around love.
She thought of the life that lay before her.
A world of infinite possibilities.
She went to school and things came easy.
Smartest in class, and the prettiest smile.
Her friends stuck around for while.
When she hit ten her Mom had a new man.
He came home every night and played with her.
She liked him and though she'd found a new father.
What did it matter if sometimes he hit her?
Chorus:
--Little baby don't know what to do,
but please, little baby, don't let him hurt you.
The world will rape your sweet innocence
if the bruises and beatings don't come to an end.
Hey little baby it's okay to cry
and you can tell mommy when she asks you why.
But please little baby do not be afraid
do not be afraid to run away.--
She grew up two more years and Mom went away,
with her new daddy she made her stay.
Things were okay for a couple of days,
and she even thought she liked it that way.
She had so many friends, they even came over.
But something about it made them uneasy.
They didn't like her dad, they thought he was scary.
One night while she lay in her bed,
her dad came home and ran into her room.
He had been out to drink, he was influenced.
He hit her too hard on the back of her head.
Chorus X2:
--Little baby don't know what to do,
but please, little baby, don't let him hurt you.
The world will rape your sweet innocence
if the bruises and beatings don't come to an end.
Hey little baby it's okay to cry
and you can tell mommy when she asks you why.
But please little baby do not be afraid
do not be afraid to run away.--
Please little baby
Before it's too late.
Please tell me what you think

Powerful and moving piece. I'm not sure what to say about this exactly. It has a sadness to it. It seemed to talk about a loss of innocence in life and how after something really bad happens to people, their life isn't ever really the same way again. Keep writing.
