A cacophony of noise is this earth.
So many people, no quiet to be found.
Until the winter brings a gift most precious
as the snow falls white upon the ground.
Squealing tires, screams of anger and rage.
People fighting,, television's pervasive voice.
Yet when I see my snowy footprint there,
I take a deep breath and then rejoice.
Here silence is pervasive and true.
Muted mutters of birds and squirrels.
In the snow the ears are set to peace,
sparkling quiet tight around me curls.
Then I am free, my mind at ease at last.
I can think clearly of my life and time.
How good of God to send along to us
His most beautiful and cherished design.

A very nice write. I like how you describe snow. The tone you use is peaceful and quiet, and it mirrors the essence of snow perfectly! When writers do that . . . well, I appreciate it. It's almost like narrating a slide show --if you know what I mean-- only this was more enjoyable! The rhyme was done well, and I liked the photo that accompanied this. Well done. Thanks for entering.

This was an interesting and unique interpretation of the power of snow. Your second stanza tells of the cacophony of modern life and the blessed silence of newly fallen snow. Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz
