He was the only daddy she ever knew
So she loved him despite the abuse
He was never really all that bad...
Until alcohol was introduced.
And with the alcohol came pills too
Addictions held his hand.
He changed from the daddy she always knew
Into a different sort of man.
He stopped giving her hugs,
And gave dark bruises instead.
Teachers sometimes asked her questions
And this is what she said.
"I was attached by a Monster
Who hurt me very bad.
But that's what happens to little girls,
When making monsters mad.
This Monster is my very own,
Who loves me some of the time.
It's the only love I ever get,
So I forgive it of it's crime
My Monster sometimes laughs,
When I make it really glad.
Even though it hurts me alot
I'll always love my dad."
