Come hither fair maiden and walk with me
Upon the paths through wood and field.
Sweet times will pass and together we'll go
To find those treasures that Spring doth yield.
Come hither fair maiden and talk with me
Of life and dreams and times passing.
Thy voice is soothing like river's flow,
My ears are lost to thy enchanting.
Come hither my friend and sit by me
Before you journey down to the vill.
Come sit by me and see this sight
That Summer has brought to land and hill.
Come hither my friend and dance with me
The night is near and comming soon.
We'll dance and laugh till falling twilight
And I'll walk you home beneath the moon.
Come hither my love and stand with me,
Follow my voice and heed my call.
I wish to speak of my fealings true
Beneath these trees all colored with Fall.
Come hither my love and marry me,
Please take my hand and be my wife.
My heart is yours to keep with you,
Forever together throughout thy life.
Author notes
This is a Pastoral poem I wrote for English class. My teachers all think it is rather good, so I decided to post it here.
