Our training battalion was in the field
after a march and having set up perimeter
we put in for the night.
Private Wills got so cold
his squad leader sought help.
The drill sergeants came
brought him to the medics tent
where they soon found out
he had put on every bit of warm clothing
he could, and having sweated that up
was now quite chilled.
Moral of the story,
only put on what you need,
and having sweated up what you have,
quickly change asap before you get still.
I imagine they probably got him into warm clothing,
Got him in a warm place,
maybe even had the medics lie with him,
probably not,
but anyway he turned out okay.

Good luck to your daughter in her BT and Advanced Individual Training. Or the OSUT if she does that.

Great advice and so true
I have a poem where people without proper clothing can use a trash bag over them like a rain jacket to help keep warm but yes one must change into dry clothes are they could surely freeze and never wear more than you need -
Your story have some wonderful advice in it. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
