Every Footfall Will I Remember

A cup of tea when winter stings
A chatty talk of clocks and things,
A memory shared prompted by me
That brought your smile so graciously,
Thank you cards that smelled of mint
For everything I cooked and sent.

For these since that first December
Will each footfall I remember.

Dedicated to my neighbor and friend for the remaining family

ah the smiles of others entering those we have - a good thing, i do not get on with my neighbours here, though i was kind to the guy who moved opposite me when he first arrived, gave him an old tv so he could pass time he now thinks he owns the flats and bullies people, i dislike him, but he does not bother me too much cos i will not have it, i will just punch him and he knows it anyway, back to your poem, sorry i rambled then but that is what you made me think of with neighbours. this is a sweet and smiling poem, that shows compassion and love and a kind spirit.

Oh, well. Odd. This lady WAS at odds with us for many years. Don't know what happened, but one day...we were brought together and loved..loved each other
      instantly.
Regarding punching the guy. Sometimes we can do that with a 'look' and get
away with it, though I don't recommend it..lol.

Thank you for your stop by and enjoying this little coin. Appreciated!

That was interesting. I've never read or heard a poem like that. Very nice.

A lovely eulogy ~ not for the grand events, but the common small moments of friendship. Delighted to have found your work, poetess!

    100th hoodwink

This is a really sweet poem. I like the part about drinking tea with old friends and reminincing on old times.

This is beautiful.... I like the part about the thankyou cards that smelled of mint, reminds me of this saying about what I "mint" to be.

This is a treasure, just like you.

Always a pleasure to get a read and comment by a fellow Greeter... and shall I say, friend?

Like the homonym pointer. Love it when someone sees a run-in
      of words.

    Hood-Winked!

Such neighbours are precious and should be dedicated to once in a while with a word of love, a little bouquet of roses, a bite of something home baked or just a smile and hug.

Hope you'll enjoy your hoodwink day.

    Hood Wink!

    Delightfully kind, and sweet
One of the nicest dedications I have read in a long time; it is rare to find driendship like this with your neighbours and you have expressed it all so charmingly

    Stay safe
