Cocoons and spiders
lazily reside beneath
these dust-layered wall-hangings;
which were once
the portraits of his wife,
made lovingly
by his talented hands;
the same wife
who is now incarcerated
for suffocating his artistic breaths
for fortune's sake.

Oh this is an excellent take on the prompt! What a hit in the face the ending is! And how true of many couples.
Thanks and good luck.
