thought he was the one,
safe in comfortability
but realisation
dawned black
across a sky of lies
what once burned brightly
full of expectations,
now smoulders relief
left a closed book
of broken emotions,
watched it collect
ghosts of former self
took fresh pages
ready to write
a new life
