redemption

I remember when
cigarette burns
were the new finish

leather seats
and white walls

bottled courage
names in stone

became red faces

concrete kisses
and
scrap metal scars

Leather tends to melt when burned and it smells goddamn awful too...had me plenty of concrete kisses and still have the scars. C

Nice use of imagery to allow a certain glimpse of revelry to reign. Thoughtful take on the prompted piece itself, allowing more angst to shine, at least for me. Well penned! Best wishes in the contest!
