I am a whirlwind of emotion,
cyclonic even when still.
You can pick at my edges
yet never know
the passions that bind
my soul to my Master.
I can be lashed to a sail,
swept far out and away.
only to be drawn
centered and strong
out of the maze.
I've risen from the ashes,
stronger for the wear,
my heart cries tears
wept from a past but
tossed middle into a future
yet unknown.
Except for the ending,
I know not where I'll be blown.
I straddle no fences as
life rises like steam before me
and I strain and press on.
My alpha and omega
brings me strengths
I alone would not possess.
I am His and this is where
the ebbs and flows of my tides
secure my all.

This has a lovely spiritual quality which can be interpreted by those of any belief or faith. I understand the need to witness or testify, but I also appreciate that poetry is open to many views. I enjoyed the descriptions and images very much. You have conveyed a sense of centeredness and optimism quite well. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderfully emotional, sad and triumphant. Although you have been succumbed to such despair, you see the clouds parting and sunlight coming through, inspiring. Very nice write.

This poem is nothing short of awesome; you not only expressed your deepest feelings for our Lord but mine as well. How much better can it get than that!
This should be in a spiritual contest somewhere, for it is surely worthy of the gold. Our Father is smiling down upon you this day and is eager to meet you face to face. Soon it will be, very soon!
