No One Mourns the Wicked

Cast me aside and show me no light.
Shield me from happiness and offer me spite.
I breathed in the summer and moon shining high.
Revenge will be sweet and it's time for goodbye.

Exhale the wind as the autumn unfolds.
Boy bearing blood of my lover, be bold.
I am not your mother so you mustn't cry.
There will be no revenge and it's time for goodbye.

Winter yields ice and my plan must go on.
Girl with the braids and the dog from the farm...
This can't be happening! Go, pretties, fly!
They'll taste their revenge as they're screaming goodbyes!

Boy of soft smiles and complexion fare,
Fell for the girl with the bows in her hair.
With Spring in your step, you never did cry,
But believe me, my son, this is not goodbye...

Author notes

This was inspired by the novel "Wicked" written by Gregory McGuire. I wrote it from Elphaba Throp's POV and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, please message me. I'll be more than happy to explain. I love Elphie and want her back but that damn Dorothy murdered her. Yes, it was accidental, but she got everything she wanted by killing that wonderful women... xC

I think I am the only one who has still to see this play. I haven't read the book either. Congratulations on your gold trophy.

I only just realised myself, cause in the song Finale you hear Elphie singing too, she is in the darkness where no one could see or hear her (In my first comment I was playing along with the fact she was dead incase you didn't want to hear what really happens) And Fiyero is in fact the scarecrow from TWOO as Elphie turns him into one to save him and Nessa (Wicked witch of the east) is crushed by Dorothy's house to bring Elphie out of hiding, any more info you want on Wicked ask me oh and Elphie is green because her mom had an affair with the Wizard who made her drink the green elixir as heard in No One Mourns The Wicked

Truly, I know everything about the novel and almost everything about the musical. Believe me when I say I am a true Elphaba supporter.

Just so you know Elphie doesn't die She actually transmutates throught the floor and is not melted, if you watch the show you will see at the end she knocks on the trap door and she and Fiyero run away together from Oz and Glinda and all of Oz believe she is dead when in fact she is happily with Fiyero, sorry to ruin the ending lol but I thought I would lift your spirits a little Elphie is only AFRAID of water, it can't really melt her thank goodness I couldn't be happier about that he he

Actually, in the book she does die. It's just in the musical they made a happy ending. She never studied witchcraft, Galinda and she weren't such great friends, Boq never dated Nessarose and is not the Tin Woodsman, Fiyero is not the Scarecrow (though Elphie thinks he may be, she disproves her wish ), and there are many more things that are different from the two. The only thing that really connects the two is the Title and the Characters' names...

WOW! I LOVE THIS!!! Elphie is wonderful and you portrayed her brilliantly, I have yet to read the novel but I was so sad after seeing Wicked as Glinda seems to show remorse and sorrow that her friend had died, I love the song For Good it's so touching that they finally found friendship, it's the best musical I have aever seen and this poem is perfect great work xxxx
