The dawn pulls at my lids
and chases off the night.
I see you standing there
framed in a cloud of light.
I watch the play of light
as it hides and reveals
the softness of your form
which cannot be concealed.
My voice is lost in wonder
as I try to call your name
but I cannot overcome
your beauty ‘midst the flames.
I reach to try and touch you
but I can’t overcome resistance
and so I watch, admiring
your beauty at a distance.
You sense, somehow, my need
and you turn, finally aware,
but the shadows hide your face
except the smile which lingers there.
The buzzing of the alarm
wakes me from my sleep.
The sun illuminates the room
but it’s the dream I want to keep.
Slowly all the details
begin to fade away
but I will carry your image
with me, through out the day.

this poem is so beautiful.. we all have dreams, ones that we keep close to our hearts, & not wanting to let go of..
there they stay until they become reality. the imagery through out this poem is excellent. the rhyme is excellent and the flow is smooth.
Fantastic take on the prompt.
good luck
